David W. Broome
President & Chief Executive Officer

David Broome joined TransForce in 1991 to be responsible for the company’s expansion into the Washington DC and Baltimore, MD markets. In 1993 David purchased the shares from one of the founders and assumed the role of President and CEO. David provides the strategic direction for TransForce. He is a passionate advocate for truck safety and DOT compliance throughout the driver staffing industry. David’s vision for TransForce is that our drivers are recognized as among the most professional CDL drivers in the nation. Accordingly, he has sought to differentiate TransForce by providing sufficient compensation and benefits to our drivers to attract and retain high-quality employees.

David is an active member and officer of the Driver Employment Council of America, the industry group for driver staffing firms. David also is a board member of the Wish You Well Foundation, the David Baldacci family literacy foundation and E3 Solutions, a technology company working with magnetic gearing.

Prior to joining TransForce, David was a sales executive in the transportation industry with three different Fortune 500 transportation and trucking companies. David is a University of Tennessee graduate with a degree in transportation and logistics.

Howard Fowler
Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer

Howard Fowler joined TransForce in 2007 as the Chief Financial Officer. Howard is responsible for the finance and accounting function, risk management and information technology. He is an advocate for safety and has championed TransForce’s in-house safety newsletter, In the Safety Zone.

Howard has more than 20 years of experience in financial management and accounting. Prior to joining TransForce, Howard was the Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for a $500 million division of an international aviation services company. In previous positions, Howard held progressively more responsible financial management roles in labor-intensive services companies. Howard spent six years in public accounting with an emphasis in the healthcare industry, including a stint as an Audit Manager with a Big 4 CPA firm.

Howard holds a Master’s degree in Accounting from James Madison University and a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from George Mason University. He is a Certified Public Accountant.  He has taught accounting courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.

Cassie Smith
Vice President of Human Resources

CassiePictureCassie Smith joined TransForce in 2001 as the Vice President of Human Resources. Cassie is responsible for human resources compliance, payroll and benefits administration. Cassie led TransForce’s early adoption of the federal E-Verify program to ensure compliance with federal labor laws.

Cassie has over 20 years of experience in all facets of Human Resources with a background in transportation and logistics. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology, a Master’s degree in Business Administration and she is a Certified Professional in Human Resources.

Joe Dolan
Senior Vice President

Joe Dolan joined TransForce in 1999 as the General Manager of the Alexandria branch. Subsequently, he was promoted to Area Manager with oversight for several branches. In 2005, Joe was appointed Director of Operations and in 2006 he was further promoted to the role of Senior Vice President. Joe takes pride in ensuring that TransForce provides a consistently high level of customer service to all our customers. In his current role, Joe is responsible for approximately half the nation’s operations as well as the core operations support functions.

Prior to joining TransForce, Mr. Dolan spent 7 years as the General Manager for The Airport Connection where he logistically operated all of the ground transportation to and from the Baltimore Washington Airport. Mr. Dolan is a Towson State graduate with a degree in Business Management.

Dan Costello
Senior Vice President

Dan Costello joined TransForce in 2011 as the Vice President of Sales. In his current role, Dan is responsible for approximately half the nation’s operations as well as the administration of the sales function.

Prior to joining TransForce in 2011, Dan served as a staffing industry executive for 16 years in senior sales and operational roles at Kelly Services, CDI, Staffmark and most recently as the Chief Operating Officer for Select Staff. Prior to Dan’s experience in the staffing industry, he held direct sales positions, sales training roles and sales management responsibilities during his 12 year tenure with Xerox Corporation. Dan graduated from the University of West Florida in 1981 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science.

Paul Braswell
Vice President – Recruiting and Retention

Paul Braswell joined TransForce in September 2015 as Vice President of Recruiting and Retention. In his role, Paul is responsible for all Driver Recruiting efforts and all associated vendor relationship management. In addition, Paul holds the responsibility for developing and managing our programs and initiatives which enhance the retention of our most valuable resource, our drivers.

Prior to joining TransForce in 2015, Paul enjoyed an accomplished 29-year career in the Less-than-Truckload (LTL) industry while working for Watkins Motor Lines, FedEx Freight, and most recently, Estes Express Lines. Paul served in numerous operational and sales management capacities, on both local and regional levels, while based in Greenville, SC, Memphis, Charlotte, Baltimore and Harrisburg.

Paul graduated from Valdosta State University and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Management.

Tom Olsen
Vice President-Central Region

Tom Olsen joined TransForce in 2001 as Regional Vice President for the Central Region. As Vice President of Business Development, he is now responsible for key national accounts across the country. Tom has 30 years of experience in the staffing industry. He was previously Director of the Industrial Division for Kelly Services, and Zone Vice President for the Midwest for Tandem Staffing.

John Creager
Vice President, New Markets

John joined TransForce after working for nearly 20 years in related industries, holding various positions including District Manager, Director, CFO, and Executive Vice President. In that time John has been a key player handling functions including executive management, managing customer relationships, financial management, and operations.

John is responsible for leading TransForce expansion efforts in new markets across the nation. John holds a Masters in Business Administration, as well as a B.A., from Purdue University.

Deborah Johson
Regional Vice President, Tennessee and Kentucky

Deborah Johnson joined TransForce in January 2014 with the acquisition of Best Drivers. She is responsible for all aspects if customer service, sales and operations in Tennessee, Mississippi and Kentucky.

Deborah started her career at Best Drivers as a Recruiter and quickly worked her way up to Regional Vice President and Compliance Director. From 1999 – 2004 Deborah drove over-the-road as a CDL team driver with her husband. Prior to her transportation experience, she sold real estate and was a Property Manager.

Shannon Bolan
District Vice President, Florida and South Carolina

Shannon Bolan joined TransForce in January 2014 with the acquisition of Best Drivers. She is responsible for all aspects of customer service, sales and operations in Florida and South Carolina. Shannon has been in the staffing industry since 1997.

Previously she held various positions during thirteen years tenure with General Personnel Consultants; Branch Manager, Division Manager and Vice President of Operations. Prior to entering the staffing industry, Shannon spent 14 years in distribution operations management with General Medical Corporation and General Parcel Service.

Shannon currently serves as the President of the Florida Staffing Association, as an Advisory Board Member for The Broach School of Jacksonville and is an active member and committee member with the Florida Trucking Association.

Chris Cox
District Vice President, Georgia and Alabama

Chris Cox joined TransForce in January of 2014 with the acquisition of Best Drivers where he was the Regional Vice President for Georgia, Alabama, and North Carolina. Chris is responsible for all aspects of customer service, sales, and operations for Georgia and Alabama.

Prior to joining Best Drivers in 2008, Chris spent 12 years with Best Buy leading services and operations in multiple district and corporate management positions. With over 18 years of multi-unit management experience, Chris is very passionate about building and developing teams and processes that deliver world class results.

Torquka Johnson Haggerty
Director of Risk Management and Safety

Torquka Johnson Haggerty joined TransForce in 2007 as Risk Manager and was subsequently promoted to Director of Risk Management and Safety. Her primary responsibilities include the management the company’s casualty insurance programs and the ongoing development, promotion and communication of safety initiatives for the company and its drivers. Torquka is the editor of the company’s acclaimed safety newsletter, In the Safety Zone™.

Prior to joining TransForce, Torquka spent five years as the Corporate Risk Manager for an international bakery and dairy company. She also worked as an insurance industry professional for 20 years managing claims departments for major carriers and third-party administrators.

Dan Horvath
Director of Compliance

Dan joins TransForce having worked over 10 years in the Transportation Industry. Most recently, Dan was a Safety Auditor for the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, performing New Entrant Safety Audits across the United States on a variety of Trucking and Motor Coach companies.

As Director of Compliance, Dan is responsible for TransForce’s compliance with all Department of Transportation Regulations. Dan Works closely with branch offices across the country to ensure that the services provided are of the highest quality. Dan oversees all TransForce employee training, as well as administering remedial training for current TransForce drivers. Dan also manages all services provided by TransForce Services Group (TSG), the compliance services division of TransForce.

Dan is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh and also holds certifications from the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s National Training Center.
