Safety at TransForce is not driven by a single initiative or short-term program. It is a long-standing commitment that shapes how we hire, train, support, and recognize our drivers every day. That commitment shows up not just in our culture, but in the data.
Private fleets are widely recognized as some of the safest operators in the trucking industry. With stable routes, consistent equipment, and experienced drivers, they are often used as a benchmark for safety performance across the market.
Over the past 15 years, TransForce drivers have consistently operated at a lower rate of DOT-reportable accidents per million miles than private fleets. Our 15-year average accident rate is 0.39, compared to 0.53 for private fleets, representing a 27% lower rate of reportable accidents over time.
This performance reflects sustained trends across hundreds of millions of miles driven. It is not the result of a single strong year, but the outcome of systems built to support safe driving at scale.
"Safety is a shared commitment between us , our drivers and our customers. Everyone has a role to play when it comes to keeping our drivers, customers and the general public safe."
— Torquka Johnson, Senior Director, Risk Management
Safety is central to TransForce’s mission and guides how we support drivers, partners, and customers. We believe that safer drivers lead to more reliable operations, stronger partnerships, and better outcomes for everyone on the road.
That belief shapes our approach to safety across the entire driver lifecycle.
Every driver completes Road Ready employee orientation, setting consistent expectations around safety, reporting, and professionalism before getting behind the wheel.
Safety does not stop after onboarding. Drivers receive regular safety messaging and reminders that reinforce best practices and situational awareness, helping keep safety top of mind throughout their assignments. Drivers also have an easy way to report incidents and accidents directly through the TF1 app, ensuring issues are documented quickly and addressed without delay.
When incidents occur, remedial training is used as a coaching tool. The goal is prevention and continuous improvement, not punishment.
Programs such as Driver of the Month and Driver of the Year recognize drivers who demonstrate consistent professionalism, reliability, and safe driving habits. Safety is treated as a standard, not an exception.
Monthly regional safety and risk meetings allow teams to review trends, address emerging risks, and maintain consistent safety standards across markets while still accounting for local conditions.
From safety gear initiatives like swag bags and safety boots to ongoing field support, TransForce ensures drivers have the tools they need to work safely and confidently.

Operating at a lower accident rate than private fleets demonstrate what’s possible when safety is embedded into the operation, not treated as a reactive measure. For carriers, this translates to fewer disruptions, reduced risk exposure, and greater confidence in workforce reliability.
Lower accident rates also support smoother audits, improved insurance positioning, and more predictable day-to-day operations.
Safety at TransForce is not a campaign. It is an ongoing commitment reflected in how we support our drivers and partners every day. The data reinforces what our teams and customers experience on the road: when safety is built into the culture, performance follows.
