Building a Stronger Safety Culture Through Internal Training

At TransForce, safety isn’t just the responsibility of our drivers or our Safety & Compliance team. It’s a shared responsibility that extends across every department and every role in the company.
That’s why we’re launching a new internal training initiative designed to ensure every employee has the knowledge and confidence to support our commitment to safety. Whether you’re recruiting drivers, working in branch operations, supporting clients, or leading a sales conversation, understanding the regulations, risks, and best practices behind our industry helps us deliver better service and stronger outcomes.
This initiative is part of our broader Safety & Compliance vision, which is built around six strategic pillars that work together to strengthen our business, support our drivers, and create long-term value for our clients.
Why Internal Training Matters
As a transportation staffing company, safety touches every part of our business. The decisions we make during recruiting, qualification, onboarding, placement, and ongoing support all play a role in helping drivers and clients succeed.
Our new internal training program is designed to create a common foundation of safety knowledge across the organization. While some employees will complete role-specific training based on their responsibilities, everyone will receive the same core safety education because building a culture of safety starts with a shared understanding.
What Employees Will Learn
Training paths will be tailored to individual roles, but topics will include:
- Hours of Service (HOS) regulations
- CSA scores and the Safety Measurement System (SMS)
- DOT Drug & Alcohol testing requirements
- Driver Qualification (DQ) standards
- Post-accident procedures and recordkeeping
- Transportation staffing responsibilities and regulatory requirements
The goal isn’t to turn every employee into a compliance expert. It’s to ensure everyone understands how safety impacts their work and how their role contributes to protecting drivers, clients, and the TransForce brand.
One Piece of a Bigger Safety Strategy
Internal training is one of six pillars supporting TransForce’s long-term Safety & Compliance vision:
- Speed & Automation to streamline qualification and compliance processes.
- Predictive Analytics to identify risks before incidents occur.
- TF1 Driver Engagement to promote safer driving behaviors through technology.
- Training Platform to deliver continuous learning for drivers.
- Staff DOT Competency to strengthen knowledge across our internal teams.
- Client Safety Seminars to share expertise with customers and partners.
Each pillar supports the others, creating a connected safety ecosystem where technology, education, and data work together to improve outcomes for everyone.
Building a Culture, Not Just Completing Training
Training isn’t about checking a box. It’s about creating a culture where safety is part of every conversation and every decision.
By investing in our employees’ knowledge, we’re building stronger teams, making faster and more informed decisions, and reinforcing the trust our drivers and clients place in us every day.
When everyone understands safety, everyone contributes to it. And that’s what makes a true safety-first organization.
